“ Obsessive rewinding questioning childhood in a musical structuralism. The mystery of the missing necklace is the gradual abandonment of the moment at the cost of a continuum moving through the frame, a purity of panoramic movement.

The mystery of the missing necklace starts out as an anecdote, the managing of childhood by the adult who films it. It's the greatest ambition of the amateur videomaker who stages the upcoming generation : the birthday film of one of my greatest friendship.

In a personal approach of found footage, I obsess myself about the relationship between the filmer and the filmed. What posture, what gesture does the adult choose to adopt in order to fix the child on a video medium? I share this obsession with the cameraman ten years earlier, who forbade himself to take the child out of the frame. He no longer wanted to capture, but to contain, to erase perspective, to eliminate the off-screen. The anxious gesture of this obsession is the panoramic: the horizontal panoramic.

The work is a system, a counterpoint of cells. Their audiovisual content is set up as a double-tempi music. On the one hand, they become independent, dividing into sub-systems and creating a multiplicity of temporalities investigating the image and childhood. On the other, they knot together until the adult gesture is exhausted. An exhaustion in an imitative purity, creating the displacement of the frame within its own medium. “
